John A. Templeton (1844-1931) was a Confederate soldier in Company I of the 10th Texas Cavalry. He was captured at Chickamauga, Georgia, in late September 1863 and sent to the Zollicoffer barracks in Nashville, Tennessee. He was then transferred to Camp Douglas, Illinois, in October 1863 and later released on May 4, 1865. He owned extensive land holdings in Jacksonville, Texas, and surrounding areas. Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
